My Career Story – From customer service agent to teamleader in less than 18 months in a new country
My name is Morten Halkjaer and I am 25 years old. In February 2014, I moved from Denmark to Riga to work for Transcom Worldwide Latvia. Last winter, I saw a job ad about working with customer service for an international media company in Riga and I was at a point in my life where I had to choose if I wanted to pursue my career or experience the world. I chose the last option, but I didn't expect that I would find both here in Latvia. I had the phone interview on a Thursday and four days later, I was on a plane to Riga at 5.40 in the morning.
Transcom Cares in Leeds supports Candlelighters – fighting children’s cancer
The Transcom Leeds team has always been very proud to support local charities in our area. Back in the summer of 2014, our team decided that a charity of the year would be elected to support the Transcom Cares initiative. Each team decided on which charity they would like to elect as their charity of choice, and was subsequently opened up for voting. All charities were very worthy causes; however since June 2014 The Candlelighters Trust was established as our chosen charity of the year.

Transcom Estonia celebrates Diversity Day
On the 15th of April, Estonia celebrated Diversity Day. On that day, we recognize and honor the importance and singularity of every person in businesses, organizations, and the society as a whole. Diversity is innate to nature and to people – it makes the world more exciting. There are people around us who are not the same as us; nevertheless, we all are equally important and needed.
Transcom Cares in Poland supports girl with autism
The year 2014 at Transcom Poland was rich in charity actions and full of compassion and we can be proud of our employees’ commitment. We continued our standard Transcom Cares activities as collecting food for shelters, donating school supplies and giving sweets to orphan children on Christmas Day. But the Transcom Cares project that will stay in our hearts for a long time was the charity run we did for one of our employees’ daughter – Ania, who is diagnosed with autism.
Transcom: land of opportunities
When I started working in 2001 as a Customer Service Representative for a new company that had just opened a new center in Leon, I never imagined that, after 13 years, I would end up being the Call Center Manager at this site.
Celebrating Fiestas Patrias at Transcom Lima
On July 28 and 29, Independence celebrations were held in Peru and we decided to decorate our Lima center in red and white, the colors of our national flag, and organize "Entonándole al Peru" a singing and dancing contest among all the employees. We encouraged our employees to participate with Peruvian songs and dances.
